Career Cafe Opportunity at BCMS

students

Eastland-Fairfield Career Center and Bloom-Carroll Middle School have partnered together to bring the Career Café to our middle school students.   Mrs. Johnson, BCMS school counselor, has been working closely with the career center to bring this program to BC for our 5th – 8th grade students. The Career Café is an opportunity for students in the middle school to meet professionals from the community and learn about their careers.

One of the goals of the Career Café is for professionals to share their career journey with students by discussing topics such as:

  • How they became interested in their career field
  • What education/training they needed
  • What they do in a typical day on the job
  • Advice to students about their career field

The Career Cafe will be offered four times throughout the school year during each lunch period.   The lunch period provides students a chance to meet, eat, and explore a variety of careers.

Career Cafe Dates:   October 17, December 12, February 13, and April 10.
